what did the berm say to the head?

SLAP!

yep took one to the head the other night. maybe I'll have superhero powers now, you never know really. i mean scientists say that we only use like 10% of our brains and they're not sure what the rest of it does. maybe the hit flipped the switch on to kick ass at life... oh wait, that one's been on for a while.

anyways, spring break has come and (almost) gone. I didn't really go anywhere but everyone else did, which was nice. as much as you like your crew, its good to have a break sometimes. i stuck to my plan pretty well of riding or climbing every day and man am i tired. these old bones aren't used to that much movement. i added it up and i rode 15 hours this week and climbed for 5. that's probably more exercise than I've gotten in the last 3 months combined. its cool, sometimes life gets in the way..

on a good note, my hanta virus seems to have gone dormant in the past few weeks. I'm sure it'll be back, like i said it never really leaves it just takes naps.

also the first serc race was last weekend. I'm sure somebody fast won, somebody fast lost, but whats most important is this -

do you know that guy?

awesome.

Luke is one of those guys that has been pretty effin fast for a long time, i believe he had a pro licence and a stars and bars jersey at one time, or came damn close to it at least. he's been out of the scene for a bit doing real life things but can still rip (trust me on that we rode Thurs) and just rides for fun now. its good to see people show up for fun at races still. and hey with that kit after Luke's done putting the 1989 beat down to sic vic and monster cox he can mosey on down to his local MS150 and blend right in.

Luke's the man, anyone that thinks their gonna "make it" should have a sit down with him.

I'm a rock soldier,

frecklin, its delicious.

so the sun is out, the air is warm and people are riding bikes. or running. or hiking. or climbing. as long as its outside is great. me? im sitting at the shop working, waiting patiently for time off. sitting and waiting. always waiting.

not that work is bad, i like not being broke, and this week is spring break, which means im going into the woods with my bicycles everyday, as opposed to the 1 time in the past 3 weeks.

wow. now thats how ya train. anyways i'm riding around on something new, new to me at least, and thats kinda cool. everyone likes new toys, especially when they're 24 pd slalom bikes. well maybe just me...

SEEK AND DESTROY

So lately I've had this black plague, feline leukemia, and Hanta virus mixture that i just can't seem to shake. I was talking with my buddy Kel at the shop about it and he was telling me about how he used to live in a moldy house and how it made him sick. this got me thinking, hell my house is pretty moldy (the bathroom at least) maybe that's why I've got the black death. then i went to work deuce the next day and was talking to the Old Men Of ACE about it and they confirmed my suspicions that it was the mold that is giving me the bubonic plague. they also gave me the recipe for a weapon of mass mold destruction. with today being 37 and raining out, i figured now was the time to rain death on some basic organisms. this shit was pretty powerful, i was instructed to wear a respirator mask (hello pink bandanna) and some gloves when i used it, and now the genocide is complete. we'll see how this ends up, but i fell like this may be the start of me being able to ride again and generally not cough up a lung all day everyday.
in other unrelated news TDS will be heading into Pisgah on a test run 2 weeks before the 12 hrs of Tsali now. J. Miles and i will be teaming up to race the PMBAR, which seems like a pretty rad event and its literally in our backyard, so representation is necessary. We'll also need to try out the new turbochargers and NOS tanks we've got installed before we get to the big show. we wouldn't want a disaster like this -

That would just be embarrassing.

And one last thing- a big congrats to Jami Perry for winning her first race, incidentally the second race she's ever been in. kickass!!

Revisions

Recently i was informed that i'm not allowed to talk shit if i can't back it up.

seems reasonable.

the reasoning was then told to me also. i was told that i always fall short when it comes to my goals.

also seems reasonable.

so what do you do when you can't seem to reach your goals?

do you try harder? do you buy a powertap?

hell no! im an american.

i'll just set lower goals.

so, without further ado i present the newly revised GOALS OF 2009.

1. My previous first goal was to win the Omnium natl championship. this seems rather lofty now.
lets bring it down a few levels. now my goal is to get a top 10 at a sport serc race this year. i think i can do this if i eat my wheaties and pray a lot. i might also invest in a new skinsuit.

2. This was to try and keep up with the young guns. screw that! that means suffering and i don't suffer. New goal is to see just how fast they can drop me. this means i can just continue on drinking beer and not riding and still finish my goal. i bet i can get pulled before 4 minutes in at every short track i race this year.

3. 12 hrs of Tsali. i've got teammates on this one so i can't just blow it off and sit on my couch. so my goal will to be to finish an entire lap without stopping. if im in the shape i think ill be in by then i might be able to pull this one off, but you never know.

ok, so now with the goals revised i think i just might be able to shake the habit of setting high goals and then failing all the time. nobody likes a loser, so i'll try to appease the masses.

and a few more goals before we go...

5 1/2. finally, maybe, hopefully, i'll get over this feline leukemia thats been plaguing me.

6. talk less shit. like a lot less, cause people are pissed.

im sorry,
