So the weather, umm, hasn't been the greatest to say the least. I guess I was spoiled from the previous warmer and dryer winter and all the riding I got to do that I really didn't pay attention when the old timers and true locals here in WNC told me it was gonna be a hard cold one this year. This is for sure the longest time I've not been able to ride with any consistency. I think I even rode more during my Wyoming winter, only at the skate park but it was a godsend. Anyways, it hasn't really been bad in my mind. I know a lot of folks are sick of it and chewing at the bit to get out there, and i can't blame em, but I've been strangely OK with things. Its given me some time to work on some projects that I've had on the back burner for a few years and get a big multi-month chill out, which in hindsight i sorely needed. I've got to catch up with old friends and family too, so I'm not complaining. I also got to build a couple sweet new bikes for myself, with one and possibly two more on the way. For those of you that haven't that haven't seen the SX, it's amazing.
It hasn't been all idle though. We've been taking some Clemson trips, which has been super fun to me, and i also got to check out my buddy Sam Anderson's private trails, which was also awesome and I'm sure I'll be there a bunch in the future. Jumps, drops, flowy single track, and tight switchbacks everywhere with a two minute shuttle to the top. I also made it (barely) out to the Icycle and raced in the mud. I got beat by Wes but hey, you gotta show up ready to race. I can say I had a damn good time. Other than that its just the waiting game, another month and we'll be suffering up the trails and smiling our asses off on the way down. For now I could get bummed, but why?
It's all about that attitude,
Dano out.
